Promoting an economic and pro-business agenda within our legislative arenas and in our communities is at the forefront of why Chamber of Commerce’s were created. In order to effectively advocate for our membership we must establish the benchmarks that we believe will build and enhance a positive foundation for successful enterprises. The Government & Community Affairs TEAM will be responsible for creating a legislative platform that we can use to educate our members and advocate to decision makers. In addition, they will seek out and build relationships with stakeholders and community leaders.

Programs & Events TEAM
The Programs and Events TEAM will analyze our current events and make recommendations to the Board of Directors for future event and programs. Their goal is to ensure that all events are meeting the core principles of our organization and working to help fulfil our mission statement. The Programs & Events TEAM will recommend the creation of committees to plan and implement events and programs and review regular reports to ensure that these committees are working within the established guidelines and budgets.

Finance & Operations TEAM
The goal of the Finance & Operations TEAM is to analyze the revenues and expenditures of the Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce from a budget perspective. Where are we generating our revenue and are there opportunities for us enhance these activities will be the two major questions the TEAM will need to address. They will be asked to review annual expenditures and look for cost savings that could be put towards direct member benefits. In addition, the Finance & Operations TEAM will prepare the annual budget to submit to the Executive Committee for approval by the Board of Directors.

Membership Development TEAM
The Membership Development TEAM will proactively build strategies to enhance our current membership base through recruitment and retention programs. The TEAM should recommend and advise appropriate committees to address specific retention needs within the organization, have an annual assessment of the strength and weaknesses of our membership and identify areas where we can deliver targeted services. Our Membership Development TEAM shall also guide the Board to create and administer a quality membership enrolment and orientation process so that members become engaged contributors to the Chamber. They shall also make recommendations from time to time to ensure that our membership investment fees are adequate and that our organization has adequate tools for effective recruitment of new members.

All of the Chamber's activities, responsibilities, and operations fall under one of these four teams. Each team will be lead by a liaison from the board of directors, and include the various existing committees.
