MARTI BARTONMarti Barton is president of WordCrafters, Inc, a consulting firm.which provides full service website development, creates materials for marketing and public relations, and does business copywriting. She has been an active Chamber member since she established her business in 1999. In 2005, WordCrafters received the Best of Bolingbrook Businesses award in her category. Marti joined the Ambassadors immediately upon becoming a member of the Chamber, and was active in the group until she became a director on the Chamber's board of directors three years later. During her six-year tenure on the board, she served as Membership chair and co-chair, was part of numerous committees, spearheaded the Chamber's Business Expo, and served as President for one year. She completed her two three-year terms on the board in 2008, and is now back on the board serving her first year of her third term. Besides her Chamber activities, Marti is a ham radio operator and Public Relations Coordinator for the Bolingbrook Amateur Radio Society, and is a trained severe weather spotter for Six County Skywarn System. She is also an award-winning Toastmaster, currently serving as the president of the Woodridge Toastmasters Club. In 2006 she was voted Bolingbrook's Female Citizen of the Year. She and her husband of 21 years, Keith, live in Bolingbrook. Together they have four grown his-and-hers children, a daughter-in-law, a granddaughter, and another grandbaby due in August. |
