MIKE EVANS

Born and raised in Bolingbrook, Illinois, Michael A. Evans prides himself on building transformational relationships and credits the enlightened environment of his community for fostering this talent. Throughout his education and career Evans has been honored to serve and work with numerous organizations, companies, and individuals. Including his time at Northern Illinois University where he served in student leadership for the university and his fraternity and help run a $5 million transportation system.

Deciding early on that he wanted his career to have an impact in his local community, Evans was fortunate to have the opportunity for an internship in the Mayor’s Office with the Village of Bolingbrook learning first hand management and operations along with developing his ability to understand his community and market. At the same time Mike transferred to Illinois State University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Politics and Government in 2004.

Mike’s civic involvement continued after graduation both personally and professionally. Serving in the Office of the Mayor for the Village of Bolingbrook for three years, Evans assisted with a variety of projects, programs, and services that would have a regional impact on both community and economic development. He chartered the Exchange Club of Bolingbrook in 2005 and served one year on the DuPage Mayors and Managers Regulatory Affairs Committee. Since 2008, he has also served as one of the inaugural members of the Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital Foundation’s Board of Directors and acted as Chairman for their 2009 Fall Gala.

Mike is also a past member of the DuPage Convalescent Center Foundation’s Board of Directors where he helped guide the Foundation through a redevelopment process. Prior to being appointed as Executive Director for the Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce, Mike oversaw $60 million in grant funds for the County of DuPage. In 2007, he was elected to a four-year term on the Valley View School District’s Board of Education, the same district he attended kindergarten through graduation.

Mike Evans currently resides in Bolingbrook with his wife and their new daughter born in 2010. He enjoys traveling, playing sports, and spending time with family and friends and encourages more people of his generation to take an active role in the future of their communities.
