A MESSAGE
FROM THE
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Dear
Members,
The
Bolingbrook Chamber Board of Directors meet on the second
Wednesday of each month to take care of the "regular"
business of running a fast growing Chamber. However,
it doesn't allow much time for future planning.
Two years ago the board agreed to begin meeting on a quarterly
basis to review the goals and objectives of the Bolingbrook
Chamber of Commerce. I would like to share with
you some of the decisions reached at the February 19th
meeting.
The
Board agreed to the following:
-Study
the feasibility of selling ad space on
our web-site
-Work with the local newspapers to create co- op
ads for the members
-Increase the visibility of the Chamber throughout the
greater Bolingbrook area
-Create an Ambassador training guide
-Develop a tiered package for the membership investment
schedule
-Add value to the benefits of membership
-Hold a quarterly Breakfast meeting for those members
who cannot attend the regular monthly luncheons
-Expand the Chamber's community involvement
-Make more visible and allocate greater funding for the
Scholarship Fund offered to our high school seniors
-Hold a recognition luncheon to honor Chamber Ambassadors
-Communicate more legislative issues to our members.
Give them a "voice" in government
-Re-structure the "membership drive" to be less volunteer
intensive
The board
is working very hard, taking away precious time from their
families and their jobs to increase the value of membership
and to provide our members with greater opportunities.
I appreciate their dedication and loyalty to Bolingbrook
and its business community.
Sincerely,
Peg Kenyon, Executive Director

DIVERSITY BENEFITS EMPLOYEE MORALE, ACCORDING TO NEW SURVEY FROM GALLUP.
Building a racially and ethnically inclusive workplace plays a critical role in boosting employee loyalty and morale, according to research by The Gallup Organization. A survey of 2,012 working Americans report that 86% of the respondents who felt "most included" in their company agreed that they would recommend their company as a place to work to friends and family. In contrast, only 3% of respondents who didn't feel included would recommend their companies. The most alarming finding: Only 20% of U.S. employees consider their workplaces to be among the most inclusive.
