MEET OUR LEADERSHIP
The Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors consisting of 14 members, elected by the general membership at the Chamber's annual meeting in June of each year. Each director serves an initial three-year term, and is eligible to serve a second three-year term. After serving six years, directors must step down from the board and are ineligible to serve again for a minimum period of one year. The Board of Directors plays a strategic advisory role ensuring that our programs, advocacy, events, and all the things associate with said items are addressing the appropriate needs of our business community. The operations of the BACC are left to a full-time professional staff which is overseen by our Executive Director.
The Executive Committee of the Board is made up of the Chairman, Chairman-elect, Secretary, Treasurer, and Immediate Past Chairman. The Executive Director for the chamber also sits on the Executive Committee. These officers are chosen by the Board for a term of one year. The Chairman-elect steps into the office of Chairman automatically when the Chairman vacates the office at the end of his/her term.
The Chamber is governed by a Constitution and By-Laws, approved by the membership. Chamber Board meetings are held monthly on the second Wednesday, normally at the Bolingbrook Golf Club at 8am. These meetings are open to all members in good standing. Minutes from all Chamber Board meetings are also available for review by all members in good standing. A request may be made to review the minutes during regular office hours.
Note:
On June 30th of each year the term for one or more directors comes to an end and at least one board position becomes available. Also, board positions occasionally become open at other times of the year when a director chooses to step down.
