Motivating Yourself...Eliminate motivation barriers. If you're finding it harder and harder to get out of bed each morning and head to work use these tips: Pinpoint the problem. Keep track of the times you run late. Is it usually on the same day each week? Is is tied to a late-afternoon meeting that drags into the evening hours? Reduce your energy drains. Look for anything - or anyone - that demotivates you. Then find ways to minimize the impact. Example: Perform hated tasks first thing in the morning so you can put them behind you and enjoy the rest of the day. Keep yourself in shape. Track your sleep, meals, exercise, etc., to see if your lifestyle is affecting your work productivity and attitude. Involve others. A little external pressure can motivate you. Example: On your computer screen saver, post a list of projects you've been putting off. That way, everyone can see them.
