      After a lively discussion throughout the evening this Board has set down the goals for the coming year.  Considering it's the Millennium we wanted to stretch the limits and be very creative in our thinking. The expectations are very high, but this Board is committed to the following:

  •   Increase membership to 50% of all busi- nesses in Bolingbrook
  •   Add value to our Big Business programs
  •   Create opportunities to meet with surround- ing Chambers
  •   Find a unique Bolingbrook event to sponsor  as a major fund-raising activity

To achieve these goals we will need the support of our members.  I encourage your participation in all the committees, the ambassadors programs, the luncheons and after-hours programs.  We know how you are needed in your businesses.  The growth of your business is directly proportionate to the time you spend networking and finding new ways to make your customers satisfied.  The chamber will be the way in which to bring new customers to each one of our businesses.   
The Annual Workshop is intended for  the Board to think, to act and to become a single minded unit for the betterment of our members.  We had a great facility, a great facilitator, and great participation. I invite each and every member to bring ideas forward to our staff or any board member, on how we can continue to serve you and carry out the mission of this Chamber.  I personally look forward to seeing each of you at many of our events.  Thank you for being a part of this growing, vital and successful Chamber.

SPEAKER SCREENING COMMITTEE ASSISTANCE SOUGHT!

On October 16th from 10:00 am to 3:00 p.m., speaker screenings for upcoming luncheons will be held in the board room of Village Hall.  The purpose is to offer a broad range of interesting topics, delivered by qualified professionals or extremely well prepared presenters.  The task at hand, in this democratic process, is to listen to a short version of a speech.  A scoring sheet will be offered in which to rate the speaker in several categories.  Speakers have been scheduled.  All you need to do is show up and rate them.  We seek a diverse committee.  Should you wish to be on the committee call Peg at the office 630-226-8420.
