EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE BOLINGBROOK AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE MOVING ON
BOLINGBROOK, Ill. (Aug. 21, 2014) -- The Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors announced today that Michael Carpanzano, executive director, has resigned to pursue a new opportunity in the private sector. Carpanzano intends to stay on during the hiring process for a new director to ensure a smooth transition.
A search committee is currently being formed and the process to find Carpanzano’s replacement will begin immediately. Application information will be posted on the Chamber’s website next week as well as other outlets.
After 17 months of serving the Bolingbrook Chamber’s 600 members, Carpanzano’s accomplishments include radically increasing the chambers communication reach to businesses, residents, and government through e-mail marketing, social media, and the chamber’s new visibility at community and local non-profit events. In addition, member engagement and retention grew as he believed in home-based businesses and entrepreneurs just as much as he did large scale corporations.
“Michael has done good things for our chamber,” said Mir Ali, chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors and director of operations for The Shamrock Companies. “During his time as executive director, Carpanzano has been an advocate for businesses of all sizes spurring economic growth in Bolingbrook while cultivating vital relationships throughout the region. We wish him well in his future endeavors.”
“It has been a privilege to serve the Chamber as executive director as well as the Bolingbrook community," said Carpanzano. “Leading this member-driven organization has been one of the best experiences of my lifetime. I believe in the power of community and that every single member is important and moreover, the collaborations between business and community as they play a vital role together in our overall success.”
Carpanzano has accepted a regional director of sales position with PT Solutions and will maintain a local presence in the Bolingbrook and Will County communities. The position will allow him to further his professional growth and utilize his strengths of community development, business collaboration and fostering local strategic relationships.
The Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce is guided by a volunteer board of directors, elected by the general membership annually. The board plays a strategic advisory role ensuring that all programs, advocacy, events, and all associations are addressing the appropriate needs of the business community.
