Some of the
greatest ideas are born and nurtured in the heart. With those sentiments the
first annual Bolingbrook Womens Expo was opened on October 14th, 2000. It
received rave reviews from sponsors and participants alike. Building on that success, this years 4th Annual
Event promises to be even more powerful.
The focus of
this day-long event is the journey to self-discovery, accomplished through
personal growth and community with women.

Beginning with a continental breakfast, the morning session continues
with an uplifting talk by our keynote speaker, Mary Ann Childers, Co-anchor
and Medical Editor for CBS Channel 2 News, Chicago. Stationed in Israel in 1991, she was the first Chicago
television reporter to file from the first Persian Gulf War. As an award-winning medical reporter for
12 years, Childers has been widely recognized for her coverage of the AIDS
epidemic and the on-going fight against breast cancer.
|
|
In 1995, she accompanied a team of plastic surgeons from the
University of Illinois who traveled to Guatemala to perform facial
reconstructions on children with birth defects. Her work as an anchor and reporter has been recognized with numerous
professional and community awards over the years. We are proud that she has chosen to share her experiences and
insights with us on this special day.

Afterwards, we will continue with our very popular segment, Stories from the Heart. This powerful hour will allow us to spend some intimate moments with a few very special women. The morning session will end with lunch, followed by an afternoon featuring a number of breakout sessions that will include topics such as: How to Communicate to Get What You Want Discovering Your Passion Decorating Transition of Women and Education Forgiveness Eating Healthy Mediterranean Style There will also be ample opportunities for participants to browse the booths set up by event sponsors and visit our bookstore. The day will end with great fun and laughter as we come together for our final session with T. Marni Vos, an honest, clean, and refreshing humorist. She is as funny as she is inspiring. Her presentation is original in style, extremely funny, and uplifting in content. Through laughter she continues to educate people in all walks of life to meet their challenges with a light heart and the echo of laughter. DONT MISS OUT ON THIS
WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE THE GIFT OF A SPECIAL DAY TO YOURSELF AND/OR A
WOMAN YOU CARE ABOUT! |
